Mark Zuckerberg Reacts As Facebook Suffers Major Setback After Rocket Explosion

It was earlier reported that an unmanned SpaceX rocket and its payload were completely destroyed in an explosion Thursday morning in Florida during a routine test.. The unfortunate incident just happened two days before the rocket was to launch Facebook's first communications satellite into orbit that would have significantly widened Internet access in Africa.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has reacted via his page;

As I'm here in Africa, I'm deeply disappointed to hear that SpaceX's launch failure destroyed our satellite that would have provided connectivity to so many entrepreneurs and everyone else across the continent.

Fortunately, we have developed other technologies like Aquila that will connect people as well. We remain committed to our mission of connecting everyone, and we will keep working until everyone has the opportunities this satellite would have provided.
